Welcome to our blog about life with six alpaca "fiber boys" in the Colorado foothills! We post once a week, usually on the weekend, when life slows down to sweet, slow dance. ~ Gib & Lisa

The Humans

Happily Ever Alpacas is a small alpaca-fiber farm in the Rocky Mountain foothills west of Loveland, Colorado, run by Gib and Lisa Coalwell.

Lisa ~ an elementary-school teacher by day ~ spins, weaves and knits, selling her products at local craft shows and online. She sells her scarves, bookmarks, fleeces, rovings and other alpaca wares at cost, and asks buyers for a $10 donation to a charity (such as her school's Relay for Life team, or the local Humane Society, the local food bank, among others) as her "labor charge."

What Lisa loves best, though, is educating children about these gentle farm animals. She and her husband Gib have taken their alpacas to a vacation Bible school, a local middle school, and to one of the craft fairs, where people can get a "hands-on" look at alpacas.
