Rafiki, a one-year-old gray Huacaya, joined our herd Sunday (Nov. 7). My husband Gib had promised that we could have a six-pack of pacas, and now the barn is full!
Rafiki seemed to fit right in, touching noses with Lucy the horse and both the dogs (he's shown here with Hank), and later placidly sharing a hay pile with "babysitter" Jake.
His new nickname is "Ralphie" (short for Ralph S. Mouse), so that he fits in with all the other boys and their children's-book-related names.
